More Snow

This will be the 4th storm in only a 10 day period for the area, and the snow pack continues to grow. This historical stretch will provide the current youth of Maine “I remember when I was a kid” quotes 40 to 50 years from now. Winter Storm Warnings go into effect early Monday morning and extend through very early Tuesday morning.

Most of the state should pick up another half foot to foot plus. Southern and coastal Maine should get the jackpot with many communities receiving 10 to 15 inches. Totals will taper the farther north and west you are.

Timing: Snow develops between 4 and 8 am Monday over southern Maine, closer to mid morning for Midcoast, Central Maine, and Downeast. Snow should end from west to east between 12AM and 4AM Tuesday.

Precipitation Type: All snow. It’s going to be a fluffy and at times wind blown consistency. Temperatures will be very cold during the storm.

Temperature Setup: This storm will be unique to any other storm we’ve had this winter due to the cold temperatures. Expect the temperatures to be between zero and 10 degrees for most of the storm.

Winds: Northeast winds will occasionally gust 30 to 40 mph. While not extreme the combo of cold temps and winds will produce wind chills well below zero.

Tuesday looks to be a brighter day and a good day to clean up and dig out. More snow showers are possible Wednesday, but after the Monday storm, there are no major storms in the forecast.
